Prosthetic arms are designed to restore some of the capabilities that are lost after the amputation of an arm with an aim to facilitate the performance of daily activities. However, the majority of well-designed, efficient prosthetic arms in the market today are non-inclusive to the economically weaker part of the disabled population as they can cost a fortune.
Conversely, the more affordable prosthetic arms require users to flex their muscles to hold onto an object for any length of time. This design often renders more affordable prosthetics usable primarily for cosmetic purposes, but does not allow them the same level of functionality as more expensive prosthetic arms. Additionally, more affordable prosthetic arms currently on the market lack a host of accessories for that can enable an adaptive grip for the performance of everyday tasks. Such customization of affordable prosthetic arms is often difficult due to issues with the sourcing of suitable raw materials and weak distribution systems.
